Outdoors

Tailor-made pools,
from soil to first swim.

We take care of everything: excavation, structure, finish, systems, perimeter paving and commissioning. A single point of contact for a site that, split between several firms, becomes hard to control.

Design before building

Before drawing the pool we listen: how you picture your days in the garden, what time you like to swim, who will share the water with you.

  • A survey to understand ground, exposure and spaces
  • A design drawn around your habits
  • A written item-by-item quote, once the design is clear

Types

Three ways to build a pool

The choice depends on the ground, the available space and how long you plan to stay in that home.

Inground pool

The complete solution: the pool is fully inground and the edge meets the garden level. It allows any shape, depth and finish.

  • Maximum aesthetics and design freedom
  • Ideal for use from spring to early autumn
  • Requires excavation and a building permit in most cases

Semi-inground pool

A clever compromise when the ground slopes: part of the pool stays above ground and becomes an architectural feature.

  • Less excavation and less soil to dispose of
  • The emerging side can become a seat or a water mirror
  • Excellent on terraced gardens

Above-ground pool

The fastest solution, often with a panel structure and reinforced-liner finish. Also suitable for rented spaces or temporary setups.

  • Fast installation and light structure
  • Often needs no building permit
  • Can be dismantled and moved

Structure and finishes

One construction system, two finishes

Our inground pools are all built with Mondial Piscine polypropylene formwork panels. The finish, instead, is chosen on the look you want and the maintenance you are prepared for.

Load-bearing structure

Mondial Piscine polypropylene formwork

Composite formwork panels in various widths and heights, filled with concrete: a monolithic, insulating structure, quick to assemble, with precise finishes and non-standard sizes without extra works.

  • Composite panels in various widths and heights, filled with concrete
  • Monolithic, thermally insulated structure
  • Allows non-standard sizes without changing the site

Interior finish

Reinforced PVC liner

RENOLIT ALKORPLAN reinforced PVC membrane, welded on site: a uniform surface, a wide choice of colours and finishes, replaceable over time.

Tiles

Porcelain stoneware or ceramic with resin joints. An architectural look with maximum strength and durability.

Water access

Five types of steps

Steps are no detail: they decide how you enter the pool, how much space they take from swimming and how safe they are for children. In the design we see them drawn in plan before building.

Roman steps (rounded, external)

Curved steps on the short side, with the curve facing out of the pool: the most common solution where there is enough deck space.

Full-width steps

Steps spanning the full width of the pool: a very comfortable entry with a generous in-water resting area.

Corner steps

Steps set into a corner of the pool: they take up little space and leave the long side free for swimming.

Steps with beach entry

Full-width steps plus a 1-metre beach entry with water one step deep: a gradual entry, suitable for children too.

1 m beach entry across the full width, water one step deep

Corner steps with beach entry

Corner steps plus a 1-metre beach entry across the full width: the most compact option with a shallow entry area.

1 m beach entry across the full width, water one step deep

Pool edge

Perimeter paving

It is the surface you walk on barefoot and wet: the choice is not only aesthetic, but about safety, touch and light. Here are the materials we work with and how perception changes underfoot.

Decorative gravel

A draining edge in washed gravel, with a natural effect that is pleasant even barefoot.

R11 anti-slip stoneware

Stoneware tiles with an R11 anti-slip surface: the safest choice at the pool edge.

20 mm porcelain

20 mm thick porcelain slabs, dry-laid for a continuous stone effect.

Natural stone

Bush-hammered natural stone edges: a noble, anti-slip material.

Composite wood deck

WPC boards: always clean underfoot with a warm feel.

Covers

No cover

No cover. A winter cover is still recommended for the cold season.

Winter cover

Winter sheet with floats: protects the pool during the months of non-use.

Bubble cover

Summer/winter bubble cover: reduces evaporation and keeps the water temperature.

Rigid slatted cover

Rigid sliding slatted cover: safety and energy savings all year round.

Telescopic enclosure

Polycarbonate telescopic enclosure: extends the pool season.

Systems

The part you cannot see decides everything

An undersized system shows in cloudy water after a party. We calculate it first; we do not fix it afterwards.

Advice and feasibility

Checking spaces, site access, planning constraints and ground conditions before defining the design.

Excavation and structure

Excavation with suitable machinery, soil disposal and construction of the pool's load-bearing structure.

Waterproofing and finish

Reinforced liner, porcelain stoneware, natural stone and finishes cared for down to the waterline details.

Filtration systems

Plant rooms, filtration units, skimmers or infinity edges, automatic dosing and remote management.

Heating and covers

Heat pumps sized on the volume, slatted covers and bubble sheets to extend the season.

Perimeter paving

Anti-slip stoneware edges, 20 mm porcelain, natural stone and composite wood deck.

Maintenance and support

Seasonal opening and closing, water parameter checks, leak detection and spare parts.

Technologies

What we install

Filtration

Sand or cartridge filtration units, sized on the water volume and turnover time. The plant room is planned at design stage, not improvised afterwards.

Water treatment

Chlorine, active oxygen or salt, with automatic dosing units keeping disinfectant and pH under control even when you are away.

Heating

Heat pumps sized on the pool volume, with a matching cover: without a cover, heat loss cancels out most of the energy saving.

Lighting

White or RGB underwater LED spotlights, with a dedicated transformer and controls that can join the home automation.

Infinity edge

Perimeter edge with balance tank: the water reaches the edge and disappears from view. It needs underground technical space and careful design.

Remote management

Filtration, temperature and lighting controlled from a smartphone: useful to prepare the pool before getting home.

After handover

Maintenance and support

A pool lasts decades if managed well. We offer seasonal opening and closing and ordinary and extraordinary maintenance.

Seasonal opening

Cover removal, washing, restoring water parameters and starting the systems.

Winter closing

End-of-season treatment, lowering the level, covering and protecting the systems.

Parameter checks

Testing and correcting pH, disinfectant and hardness, with guidance on which products to use.

Leak detection

Work on leaks in the pool and system, checking skimmers, inlets and pipework.

Liner replacement

Replacing the reinforced liner with on-site welding and restored edging.

System upgrades

Installing heat pumps, LED lighting, automatic dosing and remote management on existing pools.

FAQ

Questions we always get

On timing, permits, maintenance and material choices.
Request a quote

How long does it take to build a swimming pool?

For a tailor-made inground pool, typical site times run from 8 to 14 weeks, depending on size, garden access and weather conditions. Design, permits and material choices add further time: in the quote we set out a realistic schedule, which we verify together with the design.

Do I need a permit to build an inground pool?

In most cases a building permit is required, with procedures that depend on the municipality and local planning rules. We take care of it: we check constraints before designing and follow the process through with you.

How is maintenance handled during the year?

A pool with a cover and automatic dosing needs fewer interventions and keeps the water stable for longer. On handover we leave you usage instructions and a maintenance plan, plus our seasonal opening and closing service: we look after the pool even after the first swim.

Reinforced liner or porcelain stoneware?

Reinforced liner installs faster and can be replaced over time; stoneware and stone offer a richer architectural finish and longer life, with more labour and longer installation times. The right choice depends on how you want to live the pool: we discuss it during the design, looking at the finishes together in person.

Is a heat pump enough to heat the pool?

A correctly sized heat pump covers use from spring to early autumn, but the cover is decisive for holding the temperature: without a cover, heat loss cancels out most of the benefit. In the design the recommended power is calculated on the pool volume; the final check also accounts for exposure and climate zone.

Can I build the pool with a reinforced-liner structure only?

Yes, it is the fastest solution to install. However, compatibility with the ground and the water table must be checked, because with unstable soil or surface water a more rigid structure may be needed. It is one of the first things we check during the survey.

Do you also renovate existing pools?

Yes. We replace liners and finishes, upgrade filtration systems, and install heat pumps, LED lighting and covers. In these cases the survey matters even more, because the state of the existing structure must be assessed.
